Our review
Tawaen is the largest and best-served beach on Koh Larn, which is both its strength and its problem. Sunbeds, showers, kitchens and a 7-Eleven are all there, and so is everyone who came off the last boat. Take an early ferry from Bali Hai Pier and you get an hour or two of it nearly empty. Skip the packaged day tours, buy a ferry ticket yourself, and hire a scooter or a songthaew at the pier to reach the quieter beaches over the hill.
