Why we recommend it
Everything Tawaen offers with a fraction of the crowd, and water that is noticeably cleaner most days.
Our review
Samae sits on the far side of the island from the pier, which is enough to filter out most of the day-trip traffic. Soft sand, clear water, sunbeds and food along the shore, and a viewpoint on the road in worth stopping at. Check the tide before you commit to a swimming day: the afternoon can bring real waves. Reachable by songthaew or scooter from the pier in about ten minutes.
Highlights
- Quieter than Tawaen
- Clear water and soft sand
- Viewpoint on the approach road
- Check the tide before swimming
