Why we recommend it
The one attraction in Pattaya that genuinely has no equivalent anywhere else, and it is still being carved while you walk through it.
Our review
An entirely wooden structure held together without nails, covered inside and out in carvings drawn from several religious traditions. Entry is by guided tour, hard hats are issued because the building is a permanent construction site, and craftsmen are usually working somewhere on the scaffolding as you pass. Tours run in several languages at set times, so check before you go rather than turning up and waiting. You can stay as long as you like afterwards, and the grounds are worth an extra hour.
Highlights
- Entirely wooden, built without nails
- Guided tour included with entry
- Hard hats provided
- Open into the evening
