The Sportsman is located on Soi 13, Pattaya Beach Road and is a popular and well established British style pub since 1997.
Regarded as one of the best expats pubs in Pattaya, you will be welcomed by the friendly team as soon as you walk through the door. The staff along with the bar itself are immaculately presented and the professionalism is one of the things that makes the place stand out from many of their rivals.
If you are looking for a cold beer, you won’t be disappointed by the excellent selection that is available and you can sit at the bar or move to one of the tables. The prices are what would be classed as mid-range although offers are available. However, price is not the main reason for wanting to visit this venue.
The Sportsman has a pleasant atmosphere and everyone is made to feel welcome without anything being too over the top. The food menu is excellent with plenty of choice with both Thai and European dishes available.
The waitresses are supremely professional when taking your order and all food comes at the same time which might sound like a small thing, but makes all the difference. The food is well priced and the portions are large, meaning that no one will be leaving with an empty stomach.
As the place opens at 7am it is ideal for early birds such as myself who are looking for a full English breakfast. The sausages were just like you get ‘back home’ and a decent slice of black pudding is always welcome.
The Sunday carvery also represents great value and is as good as anywhere in the city. The fact that you can get as much, or as little veg, as you want just adds to the appeal. There is plenty of entertainment throughout the week including a quiz and the popular Samsung giveaway.
All in all, a great English style boozer that is well worth a visit.
